St. Joseph School

St. Joseph-Manchester School Building

I’d like to welcome you to a really great parish school nestled in West County St. Louis. It is a proud school with a rich history dating back 190+ years of providing academic and spiritual excellence. We have a long history of integrating service and outreach to the community at large.  I have been blessed to work many phenomenal educators who have had the same fire and passion to bring young people into a closer relationship with Jesus Christ through the model of Catholic education. We have wonderful children to work with who come from very supportive families. In turn, they are ministered to by dedicated teachers who have a lifelong commitment to the mission of Catholic education. Jesus Christ, who was the perfect teacher, is our mentor and guide. We are excited to be working with our new pastor, Fr. Tom Pastorius, as we make new and exciting plans for this edition of St. Joseph School - Manchester. If you haven’t seen St. Joseph School - Manchester for yourself, give us a call and come see for yourself what makes us St. Joe proud!

Mr. Greg Sturgill

The mission of St. Joseph Catholic Elementary School is to provide an educational program that supports parents in training students to glorify Jesus Christ and to be an example of Christian life through the Gospel message by the way we think, speak, act, and worship.

Prayer is an integral part of each school day. There are weekly Masses by grade level, bi-monthly all-school Masses and special celebrations such as parent and grandparent Masses. Faith formation for the sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation are incorporated into our curriculum. Faith-filled activities including the Blessing of Pets, Living Rosary, Stations of the Cross, All Saints Mass and others reinforce Catholic teachings and values.

Every student has the potential to succeed and with a comprehensive academic environment conducive to educational reflection and study, as found in our classroom, students are given a strong foundation on which to build bright academic futures.

Dynamic Community

Our smaller school community and small class sizes provide more personal attention and greater interaction with faculty, staff, administration, other students and clergy. Students and their families share common values that are reinforced by the school in both words and actions. High standards of behavior are expected of all students with an emphasis on mutual respect.
